Enact Solar continues to support residential and commercial customers across the U.S. with innovative solutions that make the transition to clean energy seamless and cost-effective. Our platform empowers homeowners and commercial partners through simplicity, transparency and choice in their solar and storage journeys.
The Founding Vision
Back in 2014, Deep Chakraborty, CEO of Enact Solar, alongside co-founder and Head of Products Manasij Kar, identified a crucial gap in the solar industry — design and proposal processes were time-consuming and costly. With extensive experience in the solar markets, Deep and Manasij saw an opportunity to innovate.
They recognized that much of the expense in solar projects stemmed from non-hardware elements and the solution was to automate and streamline these processes. Their goal was to create a platform that simplifies solar project design, saving installers and customers both time and money.
Notable 10 Year Milestones Include:
- Over 500 solar companies in more than 30 countries have used Enact’s design and proposal platform.
- Enact has processed over $12 billion in solar and storage project proposals since its inception.
- Consumer Asset fleet on Enact’s platform generates 53 million kWH of renewable energy and 95 million MT of CO2.
- The Enact team has grown to around 80 employees, living in six countries and 25 cities.
Rapid Expansion and Global Reach
What started as a solution for California’s solar market quickly gained traction. Enact’s cloud-based platform, which allows installers to design solar projects in minutes rather than hours, became indispensable. By eliminating the need for site visits before signing a residential solar project, installers could save hundreds of dollars per project—an immediate win for solar companies.
Today, Enact’s software has grown to serve over 500 solar companies in 35 countries and it has processed more than $12 billion in project proposals. The platform also manages a vast fleet of solar assets, which generates 53 million kWh of renewable energy, offsetting 95 million metric tons of CO2.
A Commitment to Empowering Solar Installers
From its inception, Enact has been focused on not only making solar purchases easier for homeowners and businesses but also empowering solar installers. Enact’s all-in-one solution enhances productivity, reduces overhead and centralizes project management. Installers no longer need multiple software tools to handle various aspects of the solar journey. Enact’s platform integrates seamlessly with all major solar equipment and energy storage brands, providing installers with the flexibility and transparency they need to deliver exceptional service to their customers.
“Our platform has integrated with all major solar equipment and energy storage OEMs, increasing choice and transparency during the purchasing process. This also ensures long-term maintenance options for owners, which is crucial as renewable energy powers homes and electric vehicles,” Deep Chakraborty said.
Serving as a Trusted Advisor to Homeowners
“Two years ago, we also launched a consumer facing app, and that’s taken off with thousands of users in the U.S., which tracks the savings of your solar projects as well as the performance of the battery, which is super important.” Deep said.
Enact Solar serves as a trusted advisor to homeowners and businesses by simplifying the entire process of transitioning to solar energy. Enact helps customers design tailored solar and storage systems that maximize energy efficiency and long-term savings. When homeowners or businesses seek solar to increase savings or pursue sustainability, Enact’s platform provides detailed project proposals, energy forecasts and financial insights — ensuring informed decisions.
Beyond installation, Enact continues to support its users with monitoring and maintenance tools. By tracking system performance and energy consumption, customers can easily stay on top of their solar investment. Enact’s independence from specific equipment manufacturers further guarantees unbiased insights. With Enact, going solar is not just a one-time transaction—it’s an ongoing partnership built on transparency, expertise and long-term value.
“[After NEM 3.0], solar is being paired with the battery in California. We are the only platform that has the outcome tracked on an app and that’s gaining a huge traction because customers want to know where’s the money going and is the battery doing something for them,” Deep said.
Milestones of Pride
Reflecting on the past decade, Deep Chakraborty highlights several key achievements, including Enact’s international team of employees working remotely across the globe. Despite the challenges of a hybrid workforce, Enact continues to operate at the highest levels of productivity, serving customers around the world.
One of the company’s proudest achievements is the launch of the Enact Summit Series, a new initiative that trains solar professionals through in-person and online events. Covering topics like energy storage and electric vehicle charging, these summits will educate installers and industry experts globally, ensuring the solar workforce remains at the cutting edge of technology.
Looking to the Future
As Enact Solar embarks on its second decade, the company is poised for even greater growth. With plans to enhance its commercial offerings and expand into key markets in Europe and the Middle East — Enact is well-positioned to continue leading the charge in solar innovation. The platform’s newest features, including enhanced analytics, data services and maintenance alerts, are designed to further optimize the solar ownership experience for both residential and commercial clients.
At its core, Enact remains committed to simplifying the clean energy transition for all—whether you’re a homeowner looking to save on energy bills or a solar installer seeking a comprehensive, reliable solution for your customers.
Here’s to 10 years of innovation, growth and a brighter, more sustainable future with Enact Solar — cheers!
