Enact proud to expand UAE operations

July 3, 2023

Enact Systems, a leading solar solutions software company, is proud to expand its operations in the United Arab Emirates and the MENA region. Since 2016, Enact has empowered Emirati installers and consumers with clean energy solutions.

Seven years later, we’re proud to share new developments and industry updates in the Persian Gulf state. The UAE is a promising and fruitful market for residential and commercial solar. Enact is proud to accelerate the transition to clean energy, both in the UAE and over 20 countries around the world.

Our local partnerships

Enact Systems is proud to partner with Seed Group, a company of the Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum. Announced in Feb 2023, Seed Group and Enact will work to bring solar solutions to the UAE and Middle East region.

Seed Group is a Dubai-based conglomerate working to channel innovation both to the UAE and around the globe. For 20 years, the powerhouse has formed strategic alliances with global innovators from various industries to accelerate sustainable market entry and presence in the Gulf region.

Countries like the UAE are striving for a sustainable future, powered by clean energy which creates a fertile ground for residential and commercial solar markets. Enact, with the resources and assistance from Seed Group, will transform the end customer’s purchase and ownership experience of solar energy and storage solutions by leveraging data and automation. Our goal is to build trust in the solar industry and improve services.

Seed Group will accelerate Enact’s growth into the UAE with guidance on reaching the right audience, access top decision-makers in government and business and contribute to adding the latest technological innovations in the Gulf.

The future of solar in oil rich UAE

Despite being one of the largest oil producers in the world, there is a bright future for solar energy in the UAE. Mordor Intelligence found the country’s solar energy market has a compound annual growth rate of 17.34% — during a forecast period from 2023 to 2028. The current UAE market produces around 6,9000.76 megawatts, which is forecasted to grow to 15,350.66 megawatts by 2028.

There is large room for growth due to economic and geographic factors. Emirati newspaper The National reported around 90% of the country’s landmass has the capability to produce solar energy. The UAE’s combination of long-sunny days and subtropical climate makes the country an ideal location for solar expansion.

Politically, the Emirati government is committed to transitioning toward a green economy with diverse energy sources. The Dubai Electricity & Water Authority is implementing the largest single-site solar park in the world. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park will have the capacity to produce 5,000 megawatts by 2030 — the government has invested AED 50 billion into the project. At the end of 2022, the solar park has reached over 2,000 megawatts.

The solar park reflects both the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Emissions Strategy 2050 to provide 100% of its energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050.

The UAE is the first country in the Middle East to pursue a Net Zero policy, as part of its 2050 Strategic Initiative. The initiative, closely aligned to Paris Agreement goals, aims to expand green industries. The country aims to increase its clean energy share to 44% of total energy production.

Most importantly, there is a large future for commercial and residential solar in the UAE. Prices of PV systems in the UAE have dropped by over 76%, according to Solar Feeds. The same report found the UAE has some of the lowest tariff and PPA prices in the world.

Real estate giant Jones Lang LaSalle found over 80% of real estate investors prioritize sustainability. This means prioritizing energy-efficient buildings and clean energy projects (like solar).

What we do in the UAE

Enact Systems offers an all-in-one solar solution to installers and consumers around the world. Enact for Installers enables sales teams to design, price and sell solar projects remotely. Solar professionals can also use our platform to manage leads, documents, contracts and track project implementation. Enact for Installers has helped thousands of solar professionals manage projects seamlessly with a more effective workflow.

End-customers — residential and commercial — benefit from the Enact platform and Enact Home, our solar and storage monitoring app. Enact Home lets users track energy and financial performance and understand their system’s health. Enact Home integrates with all major inverter and energy storage manufacturers.

Just in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, there are thousands of townhouses and villas making the region a perfect hub for solar homeowners. That doesn’t even account for the large commercial solar market — which includes malls, airports, offices and more. Our mission is to support the switch to clean energy by equipping both local installers and customers with custom designs for high-quality solar systems.
