PV Monitoring

Photovoltaic Monitoring, commonly known as PV Monitoring, is the methods and technology of tracking the real-time functions and energy generation of a solar power site. These systems typically rely on SENs that attach to key elements such as solar panels and inverters which collect the data of energy generation, voltage, current, and temperature. This data is then fed, typically wirelessly, into a software platform or a mobile application, allowing the system owner/operator to access understanding of their solar array’s performance. Proper PV monitoring plays an important role in ensuring maximum efficiency from the system, allowing the system to operate in a conducive environment (with no faults or under performance problems, such as the effects of shading, soiling or equipment failure), and maximizing returns on the investment. With in-depth analytics and alarms, PV monitoring enables users to know about their energy generation, confirm savings and plan for periodic maintenance to protect the long-term effectiveness and dependability of their solar energy facility.
